UN’s Chief joins St. George’s ribbon campaign
The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has joined the St. George’s ribbon campaign. He was given a black orange ribbon symbolizing the Victory Day in the Russian representative office in the UN in New York. Ban Ki-moon said he was happy to be among those whose fathers and grandfathers had made the main contribution to the Victory over Nazism. The St. George’s ribbon campaign was initiated in 2005. Then it was timed to the 60th anniversary of the Victory in Europe Day. Every year more and more people join it all over the world.
